Job summary

Chiltern Way Academy Prestwood is a specialist secondary SEMH provision for students aged 11-16. Set in spacious, modern facilities with extensive grounds, Prestwood offers a personalised, skills-focused curriculum that builds independence, resilience and confidence while supporting every learner to succeed in school and beyond.

We are looking for a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to help our students thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Qualifications

• Patient, flexible and enthusiastic.
• Able to build positive relationships with young people.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Experience working with children or young people.
• GCSE English & Maths (A-C) and NVQ Level 2 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering learning activities.
• Work with individuals and small groups to help them progress.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and independence.
• Help create a calm, safe and supportive learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Assist with basic planning, preparation and classroom organisation.
