Job summary

Desian Education in the Wigan area is seeking a dedicated classroom assistant to support pupils with SEMH needs. This full-time, long-term role offers an immediate start for the right candidate and a chance to make a tangible difference in children's lives.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, assisting teachers, promoting emotional wellbeing, and building strong relationships to boost engagement and confidence across learning activities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH needs.
• Ability to engage learners and promote positive behaviour.
• Strong interpersonal skills and patience.

This is a full-time, long-term position with an immediate start available for the right candidate.

You will be supporting pupils with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs, helping them to engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

The Role

• - Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• - Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and interventions
• - Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• - Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• - Encouraging independence, confidence, and resilience

Working collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals to support pupil progress
