Job summary

Desian Education is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a SEMH Primary School in the Wigan area. This is a full-time, long-term role with an immediate start for the right candidate, offering a rewarding opportunity to support children with social, emotional and mental health needs.

You will assist with 1:1 support and small group interventions, help deliver engaging lessons, promote positive behaviour and build strong relationships to enable pupils to engage with learning and reach

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEMH pupils.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Patience and adaptability in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and interventions.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Encourage independence, confidence and resilience.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and external professionals to support pupil progress.
