Job summary

Supply Desk is recruiting an SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a Salisbury school. You will provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs, helping manage emotions and behaviour within a structured setting.

The role offers immediate start and a pathway to permanent placement, with ongoing training and development. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to ensure EHCPs are implemented effectively, supporting pupil progress and

Qualifications

  • Experience working with SEMH, behaviour needs, or vulnerable children is highly desirable (school-based or alternative settings).
  • Calm, patient, and empathetic approach with strong behaviour management skills.
  • Confident communication and ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Pay Rate: £100 £115 per day

About the Role:

A supportive and inclusive school in Salisbury is seeking a resilient and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes both academically and emotionally.

In this role, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to provide consistent, tailored support to pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural guidance in a structured, nurturing environment.
