Teaching Assistant - Primary School, Macclesfield
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Macclesfield on a full-time basis from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive school community and play a key role in helping pupils achieve their full potential. The role is initially available until the Christmas break, with the possibility of being extended beyond this period for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Working with individual pupils and small groups to provide targeted learning support.
- Assisting with the preparation of classroom resources and learning activities.
- Supporting pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and helping to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back observations to teaching staff.
- Supporting children with varying learning needs to ensure they can fully access the curriculum.
- Supervising pupils during classroom activities, break times, and educational visits where required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, youth work, or similar setting.
- A positive, patient, and nurturing approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive attitude.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Experience working within a Primary School setting.
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective classroom support strategies.
- Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs would be advantageous.
