Job summary

Academics is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a Brentwood primary school, starting September 2026. This is a full-time 1-year contract with potential to extend or convert to a permanent position.

You will support pupils in lessons, work with individuals or small groups, and help pupils build confidence and positive learning habits in a collaborative school environment, under the guidance of teaching staff.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils during lessons and classroom activities

  • Providing additional encouragement to pupils who need extra support
  • Assisting teachers with resources, interventions and classroom preparation

Location: Brentwood, Essex
Contract: Full Time 1 Year Contract
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: 92 - 120 per day, depending on experience

A welcoming primary school in Brentwood is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join its team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced TA who wants to become part of a school community and build strong relationships with both pupils and staff.

The initial contract will run for the full academic year, with the possibility of extending or moving into a permanent position at the end. You'll work closely with teachers to help pupils engage with their learning, overcome challenges and develop confidence in the classroom.
