Job summary

Smithills School in Bolton is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 3 SEND to support pupils with special educational needs in mainstream classes.

You will work with the SENCO and teaching staff to develop best practice and ensure progress for pupils with SEND through targeted support and assessment.

The role is 33 hours per week, term time plus five days, under a 1-year fixed-term contract.

SALARY: Grade E pt 11-18 £28,142 - £31,537 pro rata

THE ROLE:

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and well qualified candidate to work with the SENCO and teaching staff to develop best practice for SEN children. You will work with and supervise individuals and groups of children under the direction/instruction of teaching &/or senior staff, inclusive of specific individual learning needs, enabling access to learning for all pupils. You will assess the needs of pupils through individually tailored key performance indicators and ensure practices are in place so pupils with SEND in mainstream classes make progress.

You will demonstrate an informed and efficient approach to teaching and learning by adopting relevant strategies to support the work of the teacher and increase achievement of those with SEND.
