Job summary

Monkton Wood Academy in Taunton seeks a dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 2 to support students’ academic, personal and social development. You will work under teachers and senior leaders to deliver tailored support, enabling access to the curriculum and engagement in learning.

You’ll work both one-to-one and in small groups, implementing strategies and covering lessons when needed. A strong commitment to inclusion and safeguarding is essential.

Qualifications

• Understanding of classroom roles and safeguarding procedures.
• Knowledge of the national curriculum and how children learn.
• A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in supporting teaching and learning, with strong literacy and numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support to help students access the curriculum.
• Work one-to-one and in small groups to monitor progress and deliver interventions.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCo/INCo and staff to adapt support strategies.
