Job summary

The Valley CP School in Bolton is seeking a Teaching Assistant level 2 with SEN to join our dedicated team across Nursery to KS2. This fixed-term post may become permanent for the right candidate, with a salary of £26,847–£29,071 FTE per annum plus SEN allowance.

The role is 27.5 hours per week, term time plus one week, and involves working across the school to support learners with SEN. DBS checks and safeguarding are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills minimum GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
• Experience and or qualifications within SEND is essential.
• Team teach is desirable.
• Confidence in implementing strategies to support the child’s behaviour, learning and development.
• The ability to work as part of a team.
• Be hard working and able to use your own initiative.
• The ability to enable all children, as individuals, to thrive in your care.
• A knowledge of assessing pupils with SEND.
• Able to set clear boundaries and have experience of a range of behaviour management strategies to promote positive attitudes to learning.

Responsibilities

• The post holder will be required to work across the school (Nursery-KS2).
• Support and implement strategies to support learning and behaviour for pupils with SEND.
• Work as part of a team to plan and deliver appropriate activities.
• Contribute to safeguarding and welfare duties as part of school responsibilities.

The Governors are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant level 2 with SEN. The post holder will be required to work across the school (Nursery-KS2). The position is fixed term, which for the right candidate may become permanent.
