Job summary

Yardleys School in Birmingham is seeking a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. You will support individuals or small groups across the curriculum to help pupils access learning and progress.

Experience in a school setting, good numeracy and literacy, GCSE level or equivalent, and ICT knowledge are essential. Level 3 TA qualification is required; Level 2 can progress to Level 3 with training.

  • Educated to GCSE level and have ICT knowledge.
  • Level 3 TA qualification required for the Level 3 post.

NJC Grade 2 £25,614 - £27,709p.a. pro rata

(Actual salary £22,494 - £24,333p.a.)

NJC Grade 3 £28,154 - £34,811p.a. pro rata

(Actual salary £24,724 - £30,570p.a.)

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiasticand committed Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our team. Dutieswill include supporting the activities of individuals or groups of children toenable them to participate fully in their learning and access to thecurriculum. This will include working across different curriculum areas, liaising effectively with teaching staff and supporting the SENCO in assessingand monitoring the provision in place for these students. This role will befocussed on supporting our students with a variety of Special EducationalNeeds.

Experienceof supporting students' learning in a school setting is essential, as are goodnumeracy and literacy skills. You will need to be educated to at least GCSElevel and have a good working knowledge of ICT. For the Level 3 post, arecognised Level 3 teaching assistant qualification according to the BirminghamCity Council list will be required. For the Level 2 post, there will beopportunity to undertake the qualification to achieve Level 3 status.
