Job summary

The Bedford College Group is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 2 at the Central Bedfordshire College, Dunstable, Kingsway Campus. This permanent, full-time role involves supporting learners, assisting classroom delivery, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or equivalent) and Level 2 English and Maths, with experience supporting students in an educational environment.
• Demonstrate strong organisational and administrative abilities, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other ICT systems to support teaching and departmental operations.
• Effectively support learner development through behaviour management, accurate record keeping, progress monitoring and maintaining confidential information.
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an understanding of safeguarding, inclusion and the ability to build positive relationships with learners and colleagues.
• Bring a flexible, proactive and professional approach, demonstrating empathy, resilience, attention to detail, teamwork and a commitment to continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Learner Support & Inclusion - Support students’ educational, personal and social development.
• Teaching & Classroom Support - Assist with lesson planning, learning resources and behaviour management.
• Progress Monitoring & Student Development - Monitor learner progress and support English, maths and other curriculum areas.
• Administrative & Operational Support - Provide departmental admin, maintain records, track attendance and organise resources.
• Professional & Statutory Responsibilities - Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality and health and safety requirements.
