Job summary

The Bedford College Group is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 2 for its Adult & Community Learning & ESOL department in Dunstable. You will support learners’ educational, personal and social development, assist with lesson delivery and provide classroom cover when needed.

We value safeguarding, inclusion and continuous professional development, with a pro-rata salary of £25,585–£30,915 per annum (DOE). This is a permanent full-time role based at Central Bedfordshire College, Dunstable,

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or equivalent) and Level 2 English and Maths.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to support learner development through behaviour management, accurate record keeping and progress monitoring.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with safeguarding, inclusion and confidentiality awareness.
• Flexible, proactive and professional approach with teamwork and commitment to development.

Responsibilities

• Learner Support & Inclusion - support students’ educational, personal and social development including those with SEND, promoting inclusion and positive outcomes.
• Teaching & Classroom Support - assist with lesson planning, learning resources, curriculum delivery and behaviour management; provide class cover when required.
• Progress Monitoring & Student Development - contribute to EHCPs and support plans, monitor learner progress and support delivery of English, maths and other curriculum areas.
• Administrative & Operational Support - provide departmental administration, maintain student records, track attendance and progress, organize resources and support communications and documentation.
• Professional & Statutory Responsibilities - work with colleagues, maintain confidentiality, undertake training and uphold safeguarding and health & safety requirements.
