Job summary

Lowtown Primary School in Pudsey is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant (Level 1) to join our team supporting Reception and Key Stage 1 children. You will work closely with the Reception Class Teacher to help children access learning and participate in play-based learning activities.

The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with children and families, have EYFS experience (Reception), and be willing to engage in Early Years and SEND-focused CPD to promote inclusion and safeguarding

Qualifications

• MUST build strong, trusting relationships with young children and families.
• Experience supporting Reception/EYFS in school or early years setting.
• Experience with children who have additional needs (SEND) using individual plans.
• Strong literacy and numeracy; confident with basic ICT and simple observation/record-keeping.
• Understands EYFS routines, play-based learning, and continuous provision.
• Experience delivering phonics sessions.
• Works well in an EYFS team and understands classroom roles.
• Committed to inclusion, safeguarding and early development.
• Willing to participate in training including EYFS and SEND-focused CPD.

Responsibilities

• Support Reception/KS1 pupils' access to learning and assist the class teacher in delivering activities.
• Help with the smooth running of the classroom, routines and daily activities.
