Job summary

Yorkshire Education Recruitment Ltd is seeking passionate Teaching Assistants to join schools in Pocklington and surrounding areas on an ad hoc basis. Roles available part-time and full-time, with both long-term and day-to-day placements.

Responsibilities include supporting learning activities across EYFS to KS2, fostering a safe, encouraging environment and assisting in planning and assessment alongside teaching staff. Background checks and safeguarding knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Qualified as a teaching assistant or childcare professional (Level 2/3 S&T or equivalent). Level 3 desirable.
• Experience with EYFS or nursery settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patient approach.
• Creativity and enthusiasm for early childhood development.
• Understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding.

Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Location: Pocklington and surrounding areas

Salary: £92.56 - £100 per day

Job Type: Part-time & Full-time positions available

Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking passionate Teaching Assistants to work in various schools in and around the Pocklington area on an adhoc basis. We have both part-time and full-time positions available, as well as both long-term and day to day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of engaging and developmentally appropriate learning activities for children across EYFS - KS2.
• Help create a nurturing, stimulating, and safe environment that promotes exploration, play, and early learning.
• Assist in the personal, social, emotional, and educational development of young children through targeted support and encouragement.
• Work closely with the class teacher and other staff and contribute to planning, observation, and assessment.

Requirements:

• Relevant childcare or teaching assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent). Level 3 is desirable.
• Experience working with children in EYFS or nursery settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and patient approach.
• Creativity, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for supporting early childhood development.
• Understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding practices.
