Job summary

Rochdale Town Hall is seeking a suitably qualified Teaching Assistant Level 1 to support across the school on a 32.5 hour per week basis during a maternity cover. The role involves working with children from Nursery to Year 6, including specialist Rainbow and Rainforest units.

The post requires childcare qualifications and experience with children with learning difficulties, with a background in behaviour support being advantageous.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate has childcare qualifications.
• Experience supporting children with learning difficulties is preferred.
• Background in behaviour support is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Work across the school from EYFS to Year 6, including Rainbow and Rainforest units.
• Support children with a range of learning difficulties in a differentiated curriculum.
• Work under the direction of teaching staff and contribute to inclusion and access to learning.
• Be able to teach 1:1 and small groups and to work with staff and agencies.
