Job summary

Rochdale Council is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 1 to support across the school, including the Rainbow unit and Rainforest complex needs unit. The post is 32.5 hours per week on a temporary maternity cover basis.

The successful applicant will work under supervision, engaging with children with a range of learning difficulties and contributing to a differentiated curriculum that enables meaningful inclusion and access to learning for all across EYFS to Year 6.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction/supervision of teaching staff across EYFS to Year 6, including Rainbow and Rainforest units.
  • Be able to work in 1:1 settings and teach small groups.

Actual Salary: £18,650 - £18,943

Teaching Assistant Level 1

1x Post Teaching Assistant Level 1– 32.5hrs – Maternity Cover

The Headteacher, Governors and children of our friendly school are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Teaching Assistant to work in across the school including mainstream school, Nursery, Reception, Rainbow – our autism unit and Rainforest our complex needs unit.

All posts will work under the direction/supervision of teaching staff. Applicants are required to be enthusiastic, warm and friendly, and experienced in supporting children with a range of learning difficulties, preferably with a background in behavior support. The job will include a contribution to the delivery of a differentiated curriculum enabling meaningful inclusion and access to learning.

You will:
  • Enjoy working with children.
  • Have the appropriate childcare qualifications.
  • Work well with other staff and agencies.
  • Be well motivated, have a positive attitude and be emotionally resilient.
  • Have the ability to work in a 1:1 situation and to teach small groups.
  • Have the ability to work in all areas of the school starting at EYFS up to Year 6 including the Rainbow Unit, the Rainforest Unit and Nursery.
