Job summary

TimePlan Education are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a Sutton primary school to support pupils with ASD and ADHD. You will work with the SEND team and class teacher to provide 1:1 and small group support, deliver differentiated activities, and support social and emotional development.

TimePlan Education offers a full-time, long-term role with ongoing training and a collaborative staff environment, dedicated to safeguarding and inclusive learning for all pupils.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a primary school or educational setting.
  • Experience supporting children with ASD/ADHD or other needs.
  • Patience, caring and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Job description

Are you passionate about supporting children with SEND to achieve their full potential? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Sutton is seeking a dedicated, full-time Teaching Assistant to join their team and provide support for pupils with ASD and ADHD.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SEND team to support pupils both in and out of the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD and ADHD.
  • Assisting in the delivery of engaging and differentiated learning activities.
  • Supporting pupils with their social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Implementing strategies and interventions recommended through EHCPs and SEND support plans.

What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience working within a primary school or educational setting.
  • Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, or other additional learning needs.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with children and support their individual needs.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as CACHE Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, are desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
