TimePlan Education are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Sutton, supporting pupils with ASD and ADHD on a full-time basis. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement differentiated activities and interventions, helping pupils develop confidence and independent learning skills.

The role requires patience, strong communication, and teamwork to ensure safeguarding and high-quality support for every pupil.

Qualifications

Job description

Are you passionate about supporting children with SEND to achieve their full potential? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Sutton is seeking a dedicated, full-time Teaching Assistant to join their team and provide support for pupils with ASD and ADHD.

The Role
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD and ADHD.
  • Assisting in the delivery of engaging and differentiated learning activities.
  • Supporting pupils with their social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Implementing strategies and interventions recommended through EHCPs and SEND support plans.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils develop confidence and independence.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to support progress and wellbeing.
  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure pupils receive the best possible support.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience working within a primary school or educational setting.
  • Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, or other additional learning needs.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with children and support their individual needs.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as CACHE Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, are desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
