Job summary

Desian Education are partnering with a welcoming Warrington primary school to recruit an experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistant for their SEN provision. The role focuses on supporting EYFS and KS1 pupils with ASD and sensory needs in a structured learning environment.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to deliver targeted speech, communication and cognitive development interventions, promoting independence and positive relationships among pupils.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant in SEN provision.
• Experience with EYFS/KS1 pupils and ASD/sensory needs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with ASD and sensory processing needs across EYFS and KS1.
• Lead targeted speech and communication interventions.
• Support cognitive development and tailored learning interventions.
• Deliver positive and consistent behaviour support strategies.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
• Help pupils develop communication, social and emotional skills.
• Assist pupils to engage with classroom activities and wider curriculum.
• Create a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SEN team to monitor progress and adapt support.
• Support pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.

Desian Education are proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming single-form entry primary school in Warrington, who are looking to appoint an experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their specialist designated provision.

The provision supports a small cohort of EYFS and KS1 pupils with specific ASD and sensory needs, providing a structured, nurturing and highly supportive learning environment tailored to each child's individual requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about SEN education and enjoys helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and develop their independence.

Your new role:

As a Teaching Assistant within the SEN provision, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to provide targeted support across the provision.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils with ASD and sensory processing requirements across EYFS and KS1.
• Leading and delivering targeted speech and communication interventions.
• Supporting cognitive development and learning interventions.
• Delivering positive and consistent behaviour support strategies.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required.
• Helping pupils develop their communication, social and emotional skills.
