Job summary

Edgar Wood Academy is a modern secondary school serving Middleton and Heywood, opened in 2021. We seek a committed Teaching Assistant to support students, including those with additional needs, and help them access learning and realise their potential.

You will work with teachers and support staff to raise attainment, lead small group interventions, and use SEND or SEMH expertise to make an impact while maintaining safeguarding and high expectations for all students.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including English and Maths are required.
• Experience with children aged 11-16, ideally with SEND or behavioural needs.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality and high expectations for all students.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic TeachingAssistant to join our team.

This role is ideal for someone passionate aboutsupporting young people, especially those with additional needs, to accesslearning and achieve success.

The Role

What we are looking for:

• At least 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
• Experience of working with children aged 11-16, ideally with SEND or behavioural needs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A flexible, resilient and collaborative approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality and high expectations for all students.
