Job summary

Stone Lodge Academy in Ipswich is seeking a Specialist Teaching Assistant (SEND) to raise pupil attainment and promote independence. You will work with small groups across ages, support learning, and contribute to assessment through observation.

• 18.25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year - Permanent


• Salary: £25,185 - £25,989 per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience)


• Actual Salary: £10,588 - £10,929 per annum

We are seeking a Specialist Teaching Assistant (SEND) to work closely with teachers to raise pupil learning and attainment, while actively promoting independence, self-esteem and social inclusion for children and young people with communication and interaction needs, including autism and moderate learning difficulties.

You will provide skilled, compassionate support to help pupils access the curriculum, participate fully in learning and experience a genuine sense of achievement. Working with small groups across different age ranges, you will support learning activities, contribute to assessment through observation, and help create a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment throughout the school day.

Teaching assistants are an integral part of our school workforce and are expected to act with honesty, integrity and professionalism, upholding standards comparable with other education professionals.
