As a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant within our large nursery provision, you will deliver bespoke, specialist education tailored to meet the evolving needs of our 3 & 4 year olds, including those with complex requirements. You will develop and implement personalised learning to support each pupil’s unique needs and abilities. Use innovative teaching methods and resources to engage and inspire young learners. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and growth.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Are an excellent and experienced early years practitioner.
  • Are confident in the early years environment and understand how children learn.
  • Seek to build positive relationships with children.
  • Are able to work to their own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Are flexible, hardworking and have a passion to make a difference in the lives of our young learners.
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and a commitment to making a difference.
Why us?

At Co-op Academy Medlock, we inspire our children to become confident, independent and engaged learners. Everything we do is to provide our children with the best start in life and encourage them to take pride in their achievements. Medlock serves a vibrant and diverse community in the City Centre. It is a place where differences are recognised and celebrated through our curriculum as well as through pastoral channels. Our children, families and staff are caring, respectful and responsible. We work in partnership with our families and community.

At Medlock we are passionate about providing every child with the skills they need for lifelong learning. We believe that school life should give our children the ambition to be the best they can be. Learning is fun, purposeful and challenging!

You will have opportunities for continuous professional development and career progression, working in a creative and innovative environment where new ideas are encouraged and have the chance to make meaningful impact on the lives of children and help shape their educational journey.

All our values are based upon the values of the Co-op Group, which will inform our behaviours.

Self-help: We do not expect to be spoon fed – we will try to do things for ourselves in the right way and at the right time.

Self-responsibility: Everyone should act in a responsible way around the academy site and in the local community. We take responsibility for our own learning; we want to become independent learners.

Equality: We are proud to be part of a very multicultural academy, with students from all over the world; it is important that we treat each other with respect and accept that others may be different from ourselves. We should all of us have equal chances to succeed.

Equity: We want to look for the best in each other. Rewarding others fairly to encourage all types of achievement.

Democracy: We will contribute our ideas to make the academy a success.

Solidarity: We can achieve more by working together, rather than as individuals.
