Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is recruiting a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs in a welcoming primary school in Manchester. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to tailor 1:1 support, adapt activities and promote the pupil's independence throughout the day.

The role requires a calm, patient approach, strong communication, and the ability to respond to individual learning and behavioural needs.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school or SEND setting.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to adapt to individual learning and behavioural needs.
  • Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support to a pupil throughout the school day.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil’s needs and abilities.
  • Encourage independence and promote positive behaviour in class.
  • Help create a safe and engaging learning environment for academic, social and emotional growth.

£95 - £110 per day (dependent on experience)

The School and Role

Are you a patient, caring and dedicated individual looking to make a real impact on a child's education? We are recruiting a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Manchester.

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will provide tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day. You'll adapt learning activities, encourage independence, promote positive behaviour and help create a safe and engaging learning environment where the pupil can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

You’ll play a key role in helping one child access learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential within the classroom.

Requirements

The desired 1:1 Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school or SEND setting.
  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to adapt to individual learning and behavioural needs.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).
  • Relevant safeguarding training (or willingness to complete this before starting).
  • Experience supporting children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH or other additional needs would be highly beneficial.
