Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in the Chichester area. The role starts September 2026 and offers ongoing, EHCP-linked funding, with hours 08:30–15:00, Monday to Friday.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help a pupil access learning opportunities and build confidence. We value patience, strong communication and teamwork, and provide ongoing training and a supportive environment to help you contribute to a pupil’s

We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Chichester area that is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. About the Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support for a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals, you will help the pupil access learning opportunities, develop confidence and independence, and engage positively in school life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support in line with the pupil's EHCP targets and requirements
  • Assist with learning activities, classroom participation, and emotional regulation
  • Support the pupil in developing social skills, confidence, and independence
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, the SENCO, and external agencies
  • Encourage a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to safeguarding and school policies
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs, preferably within a school setting
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant is desirable
  • Patient, caring, and able to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexible, proactive, and willing to follow guidance from school staff and specialists
  • Committed to helping children achieve their full potential
