Job summary

St Mary’s CE Primary School in Platt Bridge, Wigan, is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support groups, individuals and whole classes. You will join a friendly, collaborative team with lunchtime duties on a rota basis and a flexible approach to meet pupils’ needs.

The post is temporary until 31 August 2027, 32.5 hours per week, term time (38 weeks). Salary is Grade 3, £19,367 per year (£13.69 per hour). You should have strong literacy and numeracy and be committed to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working with primary aged children with a range of needs is desirable.
• Literacy and numeracy skills must be of a high standard with a good understanding of the national curriculum in both subjects.
• Training and support will be provided as required.

Responsibilities

• Work with groups, individual children and whole class support as necessary.

St Mary’s CE Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative, motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our fantastic team.

The job will involve working with groups, individual children and whole class support as necessary. Flexibility is essential as our Teaching Assistants move around to suit the needs of the children. Teaching Assistants at St Mary’s also provide lunchtime cover on a rota basis.

You must enjoy working as part of a team and have a great sense of humour. You must be determined to help our children progress and have the initiative needed to personalise support. You will have excellent behaviour management and a nurturing approach. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference and work with a strong team.
