Job summary

About the Role

Are you a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you'll play an important role in supporting pupils’ learning, development, and wellbeing across the school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging, inclusive, and effective learning activities.
  • Provide targeted support to individual pupils or small groups to help them develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Assist pupils with their learning across the curriculum, adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND, where appropriate, helping them to access learning and achieve their potential.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence, communication, and social skills.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on pupils’ progress, behaviour, and engagement to the class teacher and wider support team.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents, and other professionals to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
  • Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, displays, and general learning activities.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • A caring, patient, and supportive approach to working with pupils.
  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour support skills.
  • A commitment to supporting pupils of all abilities and helping them achieve their potential.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
