Job summary

Oasis Academy Connaught in Bristol is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to support teaching, learning and inclusion across the academy. Working under teachers, you will help students reach their full potential and contribute to academic progress and personal development.

The role requires GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above and a Level 2 TA qualification or equivalent, plus safeguarding awareness and good IT skills.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above)
• Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification (or equivalent)
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a school setting
• Understanding of safeguarding, child protection and SEND practice
• Good IT skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Commitment to supporting children's learning, wellbeing and achievement

Responsibilities

• Support high-quality teaching and learning for individuals and small groups of pupils.
• Help adapt learning materials and resources to meet the needs of all learners.
• Assist teachers in monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress.
• Support pupils with SEND, including contributing to EHCPs.
• Promote students' social, emotional and personal development.
• Encourage independence and positive behaviour.
• Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning environments.
• Supervise pupils during lessons, breaktimes, visits and other activities.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, carers and external professionals.
• Support examination invigilation and academy activities as required.
