Job summary

E‑ACT Bannerman Road Community Academy in Bristol seeks a Teaching Assistant to support learning across the primary classroom. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver high-quality learning activities and targeted interventions, helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.

The role is permanent, 31.25 hours per week over 39 weeks; SCP 5–7 (£19,631.06–£20,260.24) or FTE (£26,427–£27,274).

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
  • TA qualification or relevant experience working with children and young people.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • An understanding of child development and how children learn.

Responsibilities

  • Support the learning and development of pupils in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
  • Work with teachers to deliver engaging learning activities and help pupils achieve individual learning goals.
  • Provide additional support for pupils with varying educational, emotional and social needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with preparation of learning resources and classroom activities.

Job Title: Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at Bannerman Road Community Academy, supporting children to achieve their full potential in a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious learning environment. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide high-quality classroom support, helping pupils to develop academically, socially and emotionally.
