Job summary

Hopescourt School, part of Bourne Education Trust, in Walton-on-Thames, seeks a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism and related needs within an all-through specialist setting. You will work with a collaborative team to help deliver tailored learning activities and promote independence.

The role is term-time, permanent, starting September 2026, with a salary of PS3 £18,175 (FTE £25,133) and a benefits package including pension, development opportunities, and wellbeing support.

Thank you for your interest in Hopescourt School, an all-through specialist school within Bourne Education Trust, supporting children with Autism and related communication and interaction needs.

Since opening in September 2024, Hopescourt has grown into a school where learners exceed expectations. Key Responsibilities Include:

• Working as part of a team, under the direction of the responsible Teacher, support teaching provision, development and implementation of learning for pupils
• Under the guidance of the responsible Teacher, facilitate the learning of individual pupils and groups, setting high expectations and promoting positive attitudes to learning
• Prepare, plan and deliver specific intervention programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil response and needs

Requirements include:

• Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children
• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent appropriate qualification)
• Ability to evidence effective continuous professional development
