Job summary

Bourne Education Trust is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join the Southcote Centre, Epsom and Ewell High School, Surrey. The HLTA will provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support under teachers and senior leaders to raise standards and help pupils become independent learners.

The role is term-time and temporary, 35 hours per week. Salary details: FTE £31,658 / Actual £25,121, with the post linked to a named student.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent qualification).
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent required.
  • Ability to demonstrate safeguarding awareness and commitment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1:1 support throughout the school day in specialist and mainstream settings.
  • Implement structured behavioural, communication and sensory strategies as directed by professionals.
  • Support teaching provision and development under the direction of the responsible Teacher and Senior Leaders.

Job description

We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at the Southcote Centre (part of Philip Southcote School), based at Epsom and Ewell High School, within the Bourne Education Trust.

Our HLTAs are responsible for providing highly effective, targeted provision and care to pupils, under the guidance of Teachers and Senior Leaders, in order to raise standards of achievement for pupils to become independent learners.

Philip Southcote Satellite Centres: Our centres are based within mainstream secondary schools. Chertsey High School, Chertsey, Epsom and Ewell High School and Kings International School, Camberley.

Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Location: Southcote Centre, Epsom and Ewell High School, Ruxley Lane, West Ewell, Ewell, Surrey

Contract: Term time, temporary. This role is linked to funding for a named student.

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00-15.30, 37 weeks per year.

Salary: FTE £31,658 / Actual £25,121 (35 hrs / 37 weeks)
