Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant for a full-time role at a secondary school in South Manchester. You will provide classroom, small-group and one-to-one support across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students stay engaged and develop confidence.

The role involves working with pupils with SEND, SEMH or barriers to learning. You will join a supportive school team, building strong relationships and contributing to a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant is required.
  • Experience with secondary-aged pupils is preferred.

  • Reliable and available for full-time work and able to work as part of a busy school team.

Teaching Assistant

Location: South Manchester

Pay: £94 to £100 per day

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping young people succeed?

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a confident and committed Teaching Assistant for full-time work in a secondary school in South Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure consistent work, become part of a supportive school community and make a genuine difference to students throughout the academic year.

You will work with pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4, providing classroom, small-group and one-to-one support. The role may involve supporting students with SEND, SEMH needs or barriers to learning, so patience, resilience and strong relationship-building skills will be essential.

What will you be doing?
  • Support students during lessons and help them remain engaged with their learning
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group interventions
  • Assist pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs
  • Help teachers create an inclusive and positive classroom environment
  • Build professional and supportive relationships with students
  • Encourage pupils to develop their confidence, independence and academic skills
  • Promote positive behaviour in line with the school's policies
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the wider SEND team
This position would suit someone who:
  • Has previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
  • Has worked with secondary-aged pupils or young people
  • Is confident supporting students with a range of needs
  • Can remain calm, patient and professional in challenging situations
  • Is reliable and available for full-time work
