Job summary

Engage Education is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs in Manchester. You will work alongside teachers to help pupils access learning, build confidence and develop essential skills on a day-to-day basis.

Responsibilities include 1:1 and small-group support, assisting with differentiated activities, supporting communication and behaviour, and coordinating with SENCOs to implement EHCP learning plans.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEN/SEND education
• Background as Teaching Assistant or Learning Support
• Experience in mainstream or specialist settings
• Experience with Autism, ADHD, SEMH or complex needs
• Patience, resilience, and commitment to supporting young people

SEN Teaching Assistant - Manchester

Location: Manchester

Salary: £95-£110 per day, depending on experience

Contract: Full-time, long-term

Engage Education are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of schools in Manchester. We have opportunities in mainstream schools, specialist SEN settings and alternative provisions, supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils access learning, develop their confidence and achieve their potential.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Supporting pupils with SEN and additional learning needs
• Assisting with classroom activities and differentiated work
• Supporting pupils with communication, social and emotional development
• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and life skills
• Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
• Providing support in line with individual EHCPs and learning plans
