Prospero Teaching is seeking Primary Teaching Assistants to work in schools across South Manchester. This supply role covers Early Years through Key Stage 2, with day-to-day bookings and potential extensions depending on school needs.

Roles involve supervising groups or providing 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 support to pupils, assisting the class teacher, and maintaining positive behaviour in the classroom. Right to work in the UK is required and a DBS update is preferred.

Qualifications

• Any teaching related qualifications are desired but not essential (including teaching qualifications obtained abroad)
• Hold Right to Work in the UK - no sponsorship available
• Hold an Enhanced Child DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional references that cover the last two years, including any appropriate child-related work experience
• Appropriate CV history including mention of any employment/studying gaps
• Teaching Assistant qualifications desirable
• SEN/SEMH Awareness desirable
• Previous experience working in a UK school, ideally up to at least 6 months
• Updated training including safeguarding, prevent and allergy + anaphylaxis training (desirable however not essential as training is provided)

Primary Teaching Assistant - South Manchester

Prospero Teaching is looking for Primary Teaching Assistants to work in schools across South Manchester.

Acting as a work-finding service, we provide supply cover to a range of Primary, Secondary and SEND schools; from small village schools to large secondary schools. We are currently looking for Teaching Assistants to support students in Early Years all the way up to Key Stage 2 on a supply basis. Strong behaviour management skills are essential.

Prospero Teaching work with both experienced Teaching Assistants and those first embarking on their career in education by helping you find your next position. Some contracts may be extended from day-to-day bookings to longer term cover.

Location - various locations across South Manchester including Wythenshawe, Northenden and Chorlton

Type of work - Support students either by supervising a small group of students in activities, working 1:1, 1:2 or 1:3 with students, aid the Teacher in the classroom.

Start date - October 2026

Duration - daily bookings, with the potential for extension depending on schools

Contract type - temporary

Part time and full time depending on schools' needs

Minimum rate of pay - £92.63 per day - rate negotiable dependent on experience and qualifications

Hours - 8:30 am - 3.30pm (full day), half day (am or pm), individual lesson cover. Start and end time can vary from school to school

The successful candidate will be required to register and have passed all safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero Teaching in order to fill this vacancy.
