Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Learning Support Assistant in Tonypandy to support pupils with Autism/ASD within a Special Resource Base (SRB). The role is long-term and part-time, with duties including interventions, group activities and general classroom support. Personal care may be required.

The successful candidate will join a welcoming school community that prides itself on an encouraging and inclusive ethos. PAYE payroll is used for accurate tax/National Insurance deductions.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with Autism/ASD.
• Experience in SRB, ALN, or similar educational setting desirable.
• Ability to deliver interventions and small group activities.
• Comfort providing personal care when required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

The school is looking to take on an experienced Learning Support Assistant on a long-term, part-time basis throughout the week, with working days varying each week depending on the needs of the school. The successful Learning Support Assistant will work within the school's Special Resource Base / SRB, supporting pupils with Autism / ASD through interventions, group work and general classroom support, and candidates must be comfortable providing personal care when required.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Previous experience working with children with Autism / ASD
• Experience working within an SRB, ALN provision or similar educational setting is desirable
• Confidence delivering interventions and small group activities
• Be comfortable providing personal care when required
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach
