Job summary

Lift Schools in Tendring is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to support students with learning, build confidence and help them access lessons every day.

You will work with teachers to plan and assess lessons, support independent learning, and foster social inclusion; progression paths include Level 3/5 TA apprenticeships and an Initial Teacher Training programme. Join a diverse, supportive team committed to safeguarding students.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4+) or equivalent required or willingness to work towards functional skills.
  • Experience working in a school or with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and collaborative teamwork skills are essential.

  • Work with teachers to plan and assess high quality lessons and targeted interventions.

About the role

You will work in partnership with teachers to improve learning and help students achieve their goals. Your focus will be on building independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. For those interested in developing their career, we offer Level 3 and Level 5 Teaching Assistant apprenticeships and an Initial Teacher Training programme. Key responsibilities

We are looking for someone who

You will have good communication and interpersonal skills, with patience and empathy in your interactions with students. We are looking for someone with GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4+) or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards functional skills. Experience of working in a school or with young people is desirable, but not essential. Do you enjoy working together with colleagues as a trusted team member, understanding your role and providing support when needed?
