Job summary

Shorefields is a special needs school for pupils aged 3 - 19 with complex learning difficulties (SLD, PMLD, ASD).

We have a vacancy for a teaching assistant to join a supportive and committed staff team working to support the educational and welfare needs of our pupils.

Applicants need to have a NVQ level 3 or equivalent and should have relevant experience in a related field working with children with challenging behaviour or supporting the needs of people with disabilities. This is a physically demanding role and a certain level of fitness is required.

This is a term time only position, plus non-pupil days.

26.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Actual gross annual salary for this position is £16,461 to £16,947

This is a fixed term appointment until 31st March 2027.

Shorefields School caters for the needs of pupils with a range of severe learning difficulties. We currently have 184 pupils on roll aged between 3 and 19 years. The school is located in the centre of Clacton-on-Sea close to the beach and shopping area. Our catchment area extends to the whole of the Tendring peninsula.
