Job summary

Shorefields School in Clacton-on-Sea is seeking a Class Teacher or Early Career Teacher (SEN) to start from 4 January 2027. The school caters for 180 pupils with severe learning difficulties and welcomes Early Career Teachers with SEN experience.

This fixed-term 1-year post offers comprehensive induction, supportive training and development opportunities, and a chance to join a dedicated staff team committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Qualifications

• SEN experience preferred for this post.

Graded as "outstanding", Shorefields School caters for 180 pupils with severe learning difficulties. We are seeking a Class Teach or ECT class teacher (SEN) to start from 4th January 2027.

Early Career Teachers transferring from mainstream school are welcome to apply, but must have SEN experience. Our priority is appointing someone with the right personality and appraoch and with the skills and attributes that will support effective work. We can help with the rest !

You will need a positive work ethic, be motivated, have a sense of humour and the desire and ability to learn fast.

This will initially be a fixed term contract for 1 year from 4th January 2027.

The school is located in the centre of Clacton-on-Sea close to the beach and shopping area. Our catchment area extends to the whole of the Tendring peninsula.
