Teaching Assistant

Hours: Full-Time, Permanent, (37.5 hours per week, Mon - Fri 8:30am - 4:30pm)


Location: Telford


Salary: NMW - £24,000 per annum, pro rata (depending on experience, skills & qualifications)

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Teaching Assistant based in our Telford centre.


Nova Training is one of the UK’s most popular and experienced training providers, operating for over 30 years in Study Programmes and Apprenticeships. We operate 14-24 provision from 13 locations across the West Midlands and East of England. Our programmes include 16-18 study programmes, pre-apprenticeships, provision for learners with high needs, apprenticeships, and 14-16 alternative provision. Rated as 'Good' by Ofsted in all areas, we offer a variety of educational options for young people.


As a Teaching Assistant, you will have a passion for working with students with special educational needs and will be committed to ensuring access to high-quality education and support. You will work closely with tutors, assisting in classroom activities and outdoor trips.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher in lesson preparation and delivery
  • Provide daily reports on learners' progress and barriers to learning
  • Interact regularly with parents/caregivers
  • Assist in managing behavioural difficulties
  • Motivate, challenge, and inspire students to achieve their best
  • Contribute to our core vision and values
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Maintain strong subject knowledge in English and Maths
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a Teaching Assistant in an education setting
  • Relevant qualification/training in Special Education
  • Experience working with learners who have an EHCP (beneficial)
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Passion for teaching and learning, with a proactive approach
  • Confidence in supporting planning and assessment

Full, clean UK Driving License
