Job summary

Supply Desk is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a Year 2 pupil with additional needs in Hedge End, Hampshire, England. The post is a full-time, temporary role commencing September 2026, with hours 08:30–15:30 and duties including 1:1 support, adapting resources, and collaboration with teaching staff and the SENCO.

The role requires safeguarding awareness, involvement in lunchtime supervision, and a reference to experience with Autism/SEMH is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Autism and SEMH is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting a Year 2 child with additional needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• 1:1 academic and social learning support for the child.
• Adapt resources to meet individual needs.
• Liaise with the teacher and SENCO to ensure suitable teaching and learning.

About the role:

A full-time an energetic individual is needed to supporta Year 2 child with additinal needs for an interim period. Knowledge of Autism and SEMH is highly desirable for this role. The school is highly regarded in the area and is a thriving 2 form entry primary.

• Start Date: September 2026
• Hours: 08:30 - 3:30

Duties may include:

• Supporting on a 1:1 basis both for academic and social learning
• Adapting resources to meet the needs of the child
• Liasing with the teacher and SENCO to ensure teaching and learning is suitable
• Ensuring safeguarding proceedures are understood and followed
• Supporting with pupil regulation and emotional well-being
• Lunch time duties – supervising children eating and interacting with peers
