Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant to support a mixed year group at a village school on the outskirts of Fareham. The role runs from September with daily hours 08:30–15:30 and a pay rate of £85–£92 per day.

You will assist with classroom tasks, supervise pupils, support behaviour management, and help with lesson preparation and marking as directed by the teacher. A DBS check is required and safeguarding standards apply.

• Experience in supporting a mixed year group classroom.
• Strong behaviour management and pupil engagement.
• Ability to work within a part-time schedule and school policies.

Teaching assistant – Fareham Outskirts

Starting September on a long term contract

Pay: £85 - £92 per day

Hours: 08:30 - 15:30

About the role:

A part-time an energetic individual is needed to support with a mixed year group class of well-behaved and enthusiastic children. The school is a village school based on the outskirts of Fareham. The school is slightly tucked away and is best accessed by car.

• Location: Fareham Outskirts
• Start Date: September 2026
• Hours: Full time

Duties may include:

• Supervising work that has been set in accordance with the school policy
• Managing the behaviour of pupils while they are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive environment
• Responding to any questions from pupils about process and procedures
• Collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher
• Reporting back as appropriate using the school’s agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising
• Lunch time duties – supervising children eating and interacting with peers
