Job summary

Gooseacre Primary Academy is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils in the classroom and work closely with teachers to deliver engaging activities. This role is based at Gooseacre Primary Academy in Rotherham, offering a collaborative environment within Astrea Academy Trust.

The position is 32.5 hours per week, term time only, permanent, with an actual salary of £20,530 - £21,190 per annum.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
  • Experience of working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with pupils.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils' learning across the curriculum through classroom, group and one-to-one work.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and learning activities.
  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
  • Support the preparation of classroom resources and learning environments.
  • Monitor pupil progress and celebrate achievement with teachers.
  • Provide additional support for pupils with varying educational and emotional needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, inclusive school environment.
  • Support pupils during break times, educational visits and wider school activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents and external professionals where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the academy and uphold Astrea Academy Trust values.
