Job summary

Smile Education is seeking a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Greater Manchester for a full-time, long-term placement across the full academic year.

The role focuses on Year 4, providing in-class support, small-group intervention, and targeted learning plans in a positive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school
• Experience supporting pupils within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 4
• Confidence working independently and delivering interventions
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A caring, proactive, and professional approach
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class support for Year 4 pupils
• Work with small groups and individual pupils to support learning and progress
• Plan and deliver targeted intervention sessions
• Support pupils with a range of abilities, including those requiring additional support
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and assessment support
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
• Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and other support staff

Hours: Monday to Friday, school hours

We are currently recruiting a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time, long-term basis at a welcoming primary school in the Greater Manchester area.

This role is for the full academic year and offers a fantastic opportunity to support pupils in Year 4 within a supportive and inclusive school environment.
