Job summary

Edugroup Ltd in the Bury / North Manchester area is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a long-term placement to support pupils in accessing learning, building confidence and fostering independence.

You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored activities, support children with SEN including autism/ADHD, and provide consistent 1:1 or small group support to promote engagement and progress.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN such as autism, ADHD or communication needs.
• Ability to provide patient, consistent support one-to-one and in small groups.
• Experience in a school setting preferred.
• Ability to communicate with students, teachers and parents.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in delivering tailored educational activities meeting individual needs.
• Support children with autism and other disabilities by implementing personalized learning strategies and behavioral interventions.
• Provide one-to-one or small group support to promote engagement and understanding among students with diverse abilities.
• Help create a safe, nurturing environment by supervising children during lessons, breaks, and outdoor activities.
• Assist with daily routines such as toileting, feeding, and sensory needs for toddlers and young children requiring additional care.
• Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure clear understanding of each child's progress and needs.
• Maintain accurate records of student development, behavior incidents, and support strategies used.
