Job summary

E-ACT Chalfont Valley Academy is seeking a caring Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly team. You will work with teachers to support pupils’ learning, providing one-to-one and small group help to ensure all children access the curriculum and reach their potential.

The role involves assisting with additional learning needs (SEND), delivering targeted interventions, and helping create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills evidenced by GCSEs or equivalent.
  • Qualified Teaching Assistant with relevant certification.
  • Ability to support children with additional needs (SEND) with patience and understanding.
  • Strong teamwork and organisational skills, follow instructions and use initiative.

Responsibilities

We are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our friendly and supportive team at Chalfont Primary School.


As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils’ learning and development, working closely with teachers to help create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment. You will provide both one-to-one and small group support, ensuring all children can access the curriculum and reach their full potential.


Interviews will be held on a rolling basis during the advertising period. Early applications are encouraged, as we may close the vacancy before the advertised closing date if we receive sufficient suitable applications.


Key responsibilities:


  • Support pupils in class under the direction of the teacher
  • Assist children with additional learning needs, including SEND
  • Deliver targeted interventions and support programme's
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support pupils’ social and emotional development
  • Assist with classroom preparation and resources

Pay range: SCP 4 - 5 £23,761.21 - £24,122.69 (Includes Fringe Allowance) 37 hours, 39 weeks per year


FTE: £27,016.00 - £27,427.00


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Experience working with children (preferably in a school or educational setting)
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills (minimum GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent)
  • Teaching Assistant Qualification
  • Ability to support children with additional needs (SEND) with patience and understanding
  • Teamwork and organisational skills, including the ability to follow instructions and use initiative
