Job summary

E-ACT The Grange School in Daventry invites applications for an enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a nurturing, inclusive setting. You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored support and enable pupils to thrive academically and socially.

The role involves delivering targeted interventions, supporting behaviour and independence, and adapting activities to meet diverse needs. 37 hours/week, 39 weeks/year, permanent contract.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English (C/4) or equivalent.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.
  • Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and professionals.
  • Ability to adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Strong behaviour management to support positive learning behaviours.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to SEND pupils to access learning and achieve potential.

We are looking for an enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs to flourish in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Working closely with teachers and SENCOs, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support that enables pupils with special educational needs and disabilities to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), enabling them to access learning and achieve their full potential.
  • Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and other professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs), EHCP targets and personalised support strategies.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and structured learning activities to individuals and small groups.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development, promoting confidence, independence and positive relationships.
  • Adapt resources and learning activities to meet the diverse needs of pupils and remove barriers to learning.
Pay range
  • SCP 5 - 7: £22,500.85 - £23,222.06
  • FTE: £25,583.00 - £26,403.00
  • 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
  • Permanent
Qualifications and Skills
  • GCSE C/4 Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external professionals.
  • The ability to adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to support pupils in developing positive learning behaviours.
