Job summary

The Parker E-ACT Academy is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant in Daventry to work with teachers, supporting high‑quality teaching and learning. You will provide general and targeted assistance to pupils and staff, under the direction of the classroom teacher, to create a positive learning environment.

The role is 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, and permanent, with a pay range SCP 8–12 (£24,370.72 to £25,982.89) (FTE: £27,709.00–£29,542.00).

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English minimum grade 4 or equivalent.
  • TA2 qualification or equivalent or relevant experience.
  • Relevant educational experience supporting a child/children in a school setting and the relevant age range.
  • Ability to work with an individual child or with a group.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring safety and access to learning.
  • Implement planned activities/teacher programmes and adjust as needed.
  • Support pupils in social and emotional well‑being and report issues to the teacher.
  • Establish constructive relationships with pupils and respond to individual needs.
  • Assist with Individual Education/Behaviour plans and Personal Care programs under supervision.

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with teachers to support high-quality teaching and learning, providing both general and targeted assistance to pupils and staff. You will operate under the direction, guidance, and supervision of the classroom teacher to help create a positive and effective learning environment.

Key responsibilities:
  • Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
  • Implement planned learning activities/teacher programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to pupils’ responses as appropriate
  • Support pupils in social and emotional well‑being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate
  • Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour plans and Personal Care programs under the supervision and guidance of teaching staff

Pay range: SCP 8 - 12: £24,370.72 - £25,982.89 (FTE: £27,709.00- £29,542.00)
