Job summary

Smile Education is recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs in a Solihull secondary school. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to aid learning, communication, and engagement while prioritising safeguarding.

The role requires a patient, calm, and compassionate approach with the ability to build trust and support emotional regulation.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
• Experience in a secondary school setting is desirable.
• Patient, calm and compassionate approach.
• Confidence supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis.
• Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
• Comfortable undertaking intimate/personal care if required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a secondary-aged pupil with additional needs.

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting a young person on a 1:1 basis? Smile Education is currently recruiting for a welcoming secondary school in Solihull seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide individual support to a pupil with additional needs.

The Role

• Providing 1:1 support to a secondary-aged pupil with additional needs.
• Supporting the pupil with their learning, communication, confidence and engagement.
• Helping the pupil access lessons and participate positively in school life.

• Intimate care may be required, depending on the pupil's individual needs.
