Job summary

Ludgershall Castle Primary School is a friendly, welcoming school where we ‘Learn, Have Fun and Succeed.’ We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our enthusiastic team from September 2026. The main duties include supporting pupils learning in groups or 1:1, aiding self-esteem and behavioural development, and assisting with the delivery of the Literacy and Mathematics strategies.

The role is part-time (27.5 hours per week) on a permanent contract, with a salary of £13.05-£13.47 per hour

  • Patience and a calm, supportive manner when working with children.
  • Ability to adapt to different tasks and groups of pupils.
  • Professional approach to safeguarding and classroom routines.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils learning, either in groups or through 1:1 work
  • Supporting pupils self esteem, inclusion and behavioural development
  • Provide physical/personal care to pupils where required.
  • Supporting the Teacher/s
  • Supporting the curriculum - Support the delivery of the Literacy and Mathematics strategy.
  • Supporting the school, e.g. setting up, storing and retrieving and general maintenance of classroom equipment and teaching aids, plus basic ICT handling

All about the role:

The main duties of the role are as follows:

  • Supporting pupils learning, either in groups or through 1:1 work
  • Supporting pupils self esteem, inclusion and behavioural development
  • Provide physical/personal care to pupils where required.
  • Supporting the Teacher/s
  • Supporting the curriculum - Support the delivery of the Literacy and Mathematics strategy.
  • Supporting the school, e.g. - assisting with setting up, storing and retrieving and general maintenance of classroom equipment and teaching aids, e.g computers and computer software, resources, indoor and outdoor play equipment, photographic equipment etc - helping to ensure the hygiene of the teaching environment in cases of sickness or soiling - administering minor First Aid under the guidance of a qualified person
