Job summary

Empowering Learning is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant in Leatherhead to join a friendly team on a long-term basis. The role starts ASAP and requires commitment to inclusive education for children with complex needs.

You will support a child with learning difficulties (ASD/SLD) and work closely with teachers and families. A DBS is preferred and we can assist with processing one if needed.

Qualifications

• DBS preferred; able to process one with support.
• Experience in a school setting is advantageous.
• Commitment to inclusive education and teamwork.

Teaching Assistant

Empowering Learning is currently looking for a SEND (Complex needs/ASD) Teaching Assistant based in Leatherhead. The role is a long‑term position starting as soon as possible. Ideally, we’re looking for candidates with a valid DBS however, we can assist in processing one should you not have a certificate.

Teaching Assistant - Requirements

• Good organisational skills, as well as flexibility and willing to work as part of a team.

• The ability to develop positive and caring relationships with children
• A positive person who can work as part of a dedicated team and is able to offer commitment to the life of our school community.
• The ability to support a child with specific learning difficulties and some understanding and knowledge of different kinds of SEN including ASD, SLD, PMLD
• Recent experience, skills or knowledge of supporting children in a school setting would be an advantage.
