Job summary

Radio City School, part of Aspris, is recruiting a Bank Teaching Assistant to join our Education team. The role supports the teaching team, helps pupils with work and supports emotional regulation while modelling positive behaviour and building strong relationships.

We seek a versatile, resilient candidate who can adapt practice to pupils' needs and take part in safeguarding obligations and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with additional support needs preferred
• Experience in an educational setting desirable
• Willingness to undertake safeguarding checks and training

Responsibilities

• Support the teaching team to keep the learning environment safe, engaging and appropriate
• Assist with delivery of learning activities as directed by the class teacher
• Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies
• Assist with day-to-day care and management of children including safeguarding
• Collaborate with school staff and other agencies to meet additional support needs
• Contribute to planning for individual pupils through Wellbeing Action Plans
• Undertake continuing professional development and other duties as required

Radio City School is recruiting for a Bank Teaching assistant to join our Education team!

The successful candidate will work alongside our teaching team, assisting the pupils with their work and supporting them with emotional regulation while establishing good relationships, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.

We are an independent, specialist school providing education and care services to children and young people aged 8-18 years with a wide range of complex needs. This includes an autistic spectrum disorder, learning difficulties, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, child sexual exploitation, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and other behaviours that may challenge. Our young people have often had negative experiences in school with substantial gaps in their education.

Responsibilities

• Support the teaching team to ensure that the learning environment is appropriate, safe, and engaging.
• Support the teaching team in the delivery of learning and teaching activities as directed by the class teacher.
• Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies and local procedures.
• Assist with the day to day care and management of children and young people including safeguarding.
• Work co-operatively with school staff and other agencies to identify and address additional support needs.
• Contribute to the planning for individual pupils through Wellbeing Action Plans.
• Undertake appropriate and agreed continuing professional development.
• Undertake any other duties relevant to the role of Teaching Assistant.

Experience (preferred but not essential)

• Experience of working with children and young people with additional support needs and their families.
• Previous experience of working in an education setting would be desirable but is not essential.

The post will be predominantly based within Radio City School. There may be a requirement to travel to other locations in line with the duties of the post.
A full driving licence would be beneficial but is not essential.
